Frequently Asked Questions to start therapy
– What is the first session like?
The first session is anamnestic, meaning it is dedicated to gathering information about the person’s psychological, physical, and social life. In my clinical practice, the first session is followed by a second phase consisting of four sessions (on a weekly basis), at the end of which psychological consultation is provided and the objectives of the therapeutic journey are agreed upon with the person.
– How long does therapy last?
The duration of therapy depends on the difficulties, needs, and expectations of the person seeking the therapist.
– How long does a session last?
Individual sessions last 45 minutes. For couples sessions, the duration is 60 minutes.
– Is it possible to do therapy online?
During the COVID-19 emergency, remote therapy was successfully tested. Therefore, it is possible to request online therapy.
– What is the cancellation policy?
This term refers to the conditions for canceling a session.
It is possible to cancel a session by giving a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. The patient is responsible for payment of the missed session. Naturally, I will make every effort to find availability, when possible, for a new session during the same week.
